Reliance Jio’s Happy New Year Offer: How to Use High-Speed Data Beyond 1GB Daily Limit

Highlights Reliance Jio’s Happy New Year Offer has free data until March 31 The daily usage limit for free high speed data is now 1GB To get more data, you can buy a booster pack at Rs. 51 per GB

If you’ve been using Reliance Jio then you’ve probably become used to the free Welcome Offer, which let users have high speed Internet access for up to 4GB of data a day. Before the public rollout even this limit was not there, but from January 1, Reliance Jio was supposed to get its commercial rollout when people would start paying for the service. Instead, the company launched the Jio Happy New Year Offer, which came into effect on Sunday. As part of this promotional offer, users will be able to make unlimited phone calls and enjoy 1GB of free high-speed data per day till March 31. To browse again at high speed, you can buy a booster pack from Reliance Jio, which should help people to get used to the idea of paying for Jio. The company has priced this at Rs. 301 for a 6GB pack, or Rs. 51 for a 1GB pack, in line with what Jio Chairman Mukesh Ambani had announced at the launch of the network. Buying a recharge is pretty simple. Here is how you can use 4G speeds on Reliance after crossing the 1GB daily limit:

On your phone, open the MyJio app. Log in, or register if you haven’t already. Your Jio phone number is your username. Now, you’ll see a list of Jio apps. Tap Open next to MyJio. Tap Usage and tap on Data – do this to confirm that you’ve crossed the 1GB limit. This is because Jio speeds aren’t always stable, and sometimes a slow connection could just be a slow connection. If you’ve crossed the limit, tap the Back icon, and go back to the main screen. Tap on Recharge Tap on Booster Choose the plan you want, and tap on the price on the right side. This takes you to the payment screen, where you can pay via JioMoney, credit or debit cards, or via netbanking. Complete the payment as normal.

OnePlus 5 Price, Flipkart Sale Offers, WhatsApp to Live on Old Android Phones, Uber CEO Resigns, and More: Your 360 Daily

Highlights The OnePlus 5 has launched internationally, and comes to India tomorrow Uber CEO Travis Kalanick has resigned following multiple controversies Flipkart teases “lowest ever” iPhone prices during upcoming sale event

The hotly anticipated OnePlus 5 has finally been launched internationally, just ahead of its scheduled launch in India on Thursday. Multiple leaks and rumours have been confirmed, now that we know exactly what the smartphone and its specifications sheet look like. The OnePlus 5 is powered by the Quacomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, and is available with either 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage at $479 (approximately Rs. 31,000) or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage at $539 (approximately Rs. 35,000). It also has dual rear cameras, a 5.5-inch full-HD screen, UFS 2.1 storage, a 3300mAh battery, and Android 7.1.1. While the exact OnePlus 5 price in India isn’t known, leaks suggest that the two variants will cost Rs. 32,999 and Rs. 37,999 respectively when it goes on sale at 4:30pm via Amazon India.

    OnePlus 5 in Pictures

Given OnePlus’s reputation for offering flagship-class phones at rock-bottom prices compared to most other companies, anticipation for the OnePlus 5 has been running high. It takes on the Samsung Galaxy S8, the iPhone 7 and the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6. The device looks a lot like the iPhone 7 Plus because of its antenna lines and the placement of the two camera lenses, and is a significant departure from last year’s OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. It’s also one of the first devices to launch with Qualcomm’s 2017 flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 835. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has already termed the OnePlus 5 the “fastest selling” OnePlus model ever, though exact numbers aren’t yet known. So far, while early reactions are generally positive, the launch has been marred by allegations of benchmark manipulation.

Highlights BSNL new plans have an additional data benefit WhatsApp camera on iPhone gets a new Night Mode Lenovo Vibe K5 Note to go on sale via Flipkart at Rs. 9,499

Reliance Jio’s Jio Dhana Dhan and Jio Summer Surprise are ending and customers will have to start paying the full amount soon. It seems that state-owned BSNL wants to capitalise on this with its new plans for postpaid subscribers. BSNL customers under Plan 99 get 250MB of data (compared to zero earlier), those with BSNL 225 get 1GB (versus 250MB earlier), and those in BSNL’s Plan 325 get 2GB (as opposed to 250MB earlier). Users enrolled under Plan 525 and BSNL 725 will now get 3GB (earlier 500MB) and 5GB data (earlier 1GB). Those on Plan 799, 1125, and 1525 get no additional benefits just yet. This comes days after BSNL announced the Sixer 666 pack for prepaid subscribers with 120GB data.

BSNL isn’t the only with offers. The Airtel Monsoon Surprise Offer announced last week is now live. All postpaid users get 30GB of free data for three months which results in 10GB per month. Postpaid users can avail of this by downloading the My Airtel app from Google Play or the App Store.
